Acupuncture is now one of the most popular forms of complementary medicine in the UK, with more and more people finding it effective for all types of problems, from arthritis to headaches and back pain.
One of the strengths of Acupuncture lies in the way it treats you 'the person', not just the symptoms you present with. It can prove to be effective not only for specific conditions, but also in reducing stress, speeding recovery to help you get back to work and improving your quality of life.
Even if you have no obvious diagnosis, you just 'don't feel right', or want to use it preventatively, Acupuncture could offer a potential solution to problems that have not responded to other types of treatment. It could provide you with a new route to feeling better, maintaining good health and enhancing your overall sense of wellbeing and can be used alongside any conventional treatment you are having from your GP or Specialist.
Our Acunpuncturist, Julie Devlin, is a member of the British Acupuncture Council and has been with us at the Surgery for over 18 years. She has a wealth of experience and would be happy to advise you about whether Acupuncture would be suitable for you.
Julie is also a member of the Acupuncture Fertility Network and a Zita West Affiliated Practitioner, working alongside couples who are trying to conceive either naturally, or through assisted conception for example: IVF.
