Specialist Nurses

A Diabetic Nurse Specialist is based at the Practice.


The following problems can be dealt with by the practice nurses or healthcare assistant.

Advice on minor injuries, dressings, removal of stitches, ear syringing, blood pressure checks, injections, holiday vaccinations and immunisations.

A minor illness nurse provides advice and treatment for minor illnesses.

Healthcare Assistants

Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.

The Phlebotomist/ECG technician deals specifically with the taking of blood samples and ECG’s.
