Practice Charter

Our commitment to you

  • Patients will be treated confidentially and with courtesy.
  • We will respect your privacy, dignity, religious and cultural beliefs.
  • We will aim to keep you informed of the service we offer and any appropriate information that affects your health and treatment.
  • All doctors and nurses will aim to begin their surgeries and clinics on time. Where there is a delay we will endeavour to give an explanation and offer an alternative appointment.
  • We will offer an urgent/emergency appointment with a doctor on the day you request it if you feel your condition warrants it.
  • We aim to have authorised repeat prescriptions ready for collection within two working days and dispensed within four working days.

Your commitment to us

  • If you cannot keep your appointment please cancel in advance to allow others to be seen.
  • Please reserve urgent appointment for medical emergencies that cannot wait until the next day.
  • Individual appointments are for one patient and one problem only. If you feel you may need a longer appointment please inform the receptionists.
  • Only ask for a home visit if you are unable to get to the surgery because of illness or disability, not because of lack of transport.
  • Outside of normal practice hours we request that you only telephone the Out of Hours Service in the case of medical emergency.
  • Please remember to request a repeat prescription in good time especially at bank holiday times.
